Rebecca Olson and Hana Lass middle-aged? Yikes. Would a man in his 30's ever be described middle-aged? As a male actor in his 30's I routinely get cast in roles described on the young end of the spectrum.
But I guess in theater years Rebecca Olson and Hana Lass--two women still in the first half of their 30's--are middle aged.
I am a man in my early 30s. I am middle-aged. It's not a big deal.
More to the point, I didn't describe the actors as middle-aged. I wrote:
"But she began to question why things were the way they were (including a poverty of roles for middle-aged women) and realized the whole thing was stuck in a rut."
That was a special point Olson brought up in our conversation. That's why I mentioned it.
