Actually,TLOZ does it better than myst and FYI,their is not much difference between a video game room and a real room...just like you have to click on a link on a computer to access the next page,or find a key, or defeat a enemy or enemies to open the door, their is really not many similarities...believe me,I know!
Besides, their is PLENTY of "escape the room" apps on your phone or on the web as mini games if you search for them! Many of them are free to play and don't cost $28-$30 to play either or usually they are a couple of bucks...I would suggest laser tag instead of this,it is way more fun!
These real-life Room Escape games actually started in Budapest, Hungary, not Asia. There are over 100 such games here, and they'll run you about 8USD, since rent is so much cheaper. They're also more directly based on the room-escape genre of Flash games than on any of the games mentioned in the article, though I'm sure those had some influence.
Also, haven't been to any of the Seattle rooms, but those in Budapest tend to be whole (small) apartments broken up into several small rooms, which are progressively unlocked as the game progresses, rather than actually just one room.
@1: What game of the Zelda franchise would you consider to be better at puzzle gameplay than the Myst series? Those aren't even in the same ballpark in my mind, and (when last I played a Zelda title) totally different game styles.
This sounds like a lot of fun, and a good way to meet new people at the same time. I might have to check this out at some point. I'm only disappointed there are none of the east side where I am.
