The Scott Joplin piece was "Maple Leaf Rag".

You should have gone the night I did. Jessica Jobaris' manic piece was a bucket of cold water to the face while being tickled with feathers, simultaneously humorous and horrifying. She was the stand-out of the Salt Horse performance a few weeks back and I can't wait to see her moving onstage again. Also great was a duet by Allie Hankins. Apparently a recent auto mishap forced a last-minute revamping of the piece, but Hankins was stunning with curt jolts of movement that created a looping, almost percussive experience.

ALSO! Holcombe Waller performed a haunting sung-piece that wetted my eyes.

Please wait...
