Ms. Datz has a good eye, but her review contains a few misstatements concerning "In the Upper Room." First, the work premiered in 1986 and was developed in that same year, not in 1981. Second, its ballerinas in pointe shoes called themselves "the Pointers" or "the Bomb Squad," not the "ballet dancers." Finally, although Tharp became an artistic associate at ABT in 1988β€”not 1981β€”she was never co-artistic director with Baryshnikov.
