I saw it and it was really fun!!!!

The play was based on a fascinating concept. Unfortunately, the exposition and exploration of the concept devolved and disintegrated over the three acts. The characters disappeared, the dialogue ceased, and the context evaporated. The final act was unbearably bad and excessively long. The audience just wanted it to end. I felt badly for the actors. What could have been an incredible, thought provoking work turned into a poorly executed campy amateur faux opera masquerading as high brown conceptual theater.

Overall, very good. I'll just add:

- first act, pretty funny
- second act, kind of bogs down. I think it isn't quite clear what is happening and it is confusing just coming from Act one.
- third act - pretty thrilling. The actors playing Bart and Mr. Burns/Sideshow Bob do an outstanding job.

We thought this play was awful. The first act includes a tedious recounting of a Simpson's episode followed by an equally tedious recitation of names by each character. The second act features a big musical number full of fake energy and tired songs. Fortunately, we were able to escape at intermission.

As a diehard fan of both the Simpsons and conceptually daring theater, I wanted to like this more than I did. All the actors felt like they were talking past each other and while the play's conceit was worthwhile, it became obvious halfway through and felt beat to death by the end.

Please wait...
