This weekend, the annual Kentucky Derby horse races will take place in Louisville, Kentucky, and, closer to home, there will be a whole day of events (including a live simulcast) at Emerald Downs in Auburn. But there's no need to travel to take part in the festivities—plenty of places in Seattle will have Kentucky Derby-themed parties on Saturday with mint juleps and fancy hats, and we've rounded them all up below.

1. Absinthe Brasserie and Bar
Don your Kentucky drag finery for this drag queen celebration of the beautiful steeds and the magnificent hats in the Louisville crowd. Compete in the Derby Hat contest for a prize basket, place horse bets, watch Adé Connere in performance, drink bottomless mimosas, and down a horseload of beignets and hush puppies. Proceeds will benefit Gay City and Planned Parenthood.

2. Bill's Off Broadway
Join Bill's Off Broadway for a celebration of the Derby with fresh mint juleps, Race Pick 'Em, and of course a Best Derby Hat contest.

3. BottleNeck Lounge and Two Doors Down
Join The BottleNeck Lounge and Two Doors Down for their 10th annual Run for the Roses Kentucky Derby Party. Get there early for a good seat and quench your thirst with mint juleps on mint juleps on mint juleps. Two Doors Down next door (where you can also watch the race) will provide fuel in the form of burgers and fries. There will be prizes for Best Hat and also for the Seattle Slew Best Dressed for Overall Derby Excellence (say that ten times fast) following the race.

4. Box House Saloon
Kill three birds with one stone (isn't there a less violent expression?) and cheer on the Mariners, the Sounders, and the Derby horsies at this event that lets you watch all three at once. Feast your eyes on the bar's 15-foot "megascreen" while also feasting on food and drink specials all day long.

5. C. C. Attle's
The race is on! Wear your most creative derby hat and win prizes at this celebration of booze specials, queers, and horsey sports thrown by the Imperial Court of Seattle to raise money for the JC/Lady Graytop Scholarship.

6. Heartwood Provisions
Join Heartwood Provisions for its first-ever Kentucky Derby Brunch Soirée, complete with brunch, cocktails, and hats bigger than your dinner plate. There will be prizes for best attire. Also, Goorin Brothers Hats from Pike Place will be there with Derby hats for purchase, just in case you hastily left yours at home.

7. MBar
Celebrate the Derby (and our city's opening day for boating season) from MBar's gorgeous rooftop and compete to win either the "Dapper Dan" or "Dressie Bessie" costume contests. Drink specials will include Bulleit juleps and Ketel One mules.

8. Prost! Tavern
If you can't make it to Louisville this year, consider an alternative and head to Phinney Ridge's Prost! for $5 herb juleps all day and crazy hats.

9. Re:Public
Don your best derby attire and join re:public for its Kentucky Derby Party, which will include brunch at the restaurant, a live brass band, and a luxury bus ride to and from Emerald Downs for the derby simulcast.

10. The Sexton
Take in both the Derby and some cocktail specials featuring Woodford Reserve's Bourbon, Double Oak, and Rye at the Sexton's Kentucky Derby celebration. There will also be Mint Juleps aplenty, Reverse Manhattans, and Seelbachs. Attendees are encouraged to don Derby gear.

11. Tavern Law
Join Tavern Law for "the most exciting two minutes in sports" with derby-inspired cocktails and complimentary hors d'oeuvres, plus a raffle for a $100 gift card.

12. Witness
Head to Witness and take in the race on the big screen. They'll have live coverage "of all the famous people in big hats" as well as free betting tickets that could get you some free stuff. Also, enjoy a classic burgoo stew (traditionally made with roadkill!!) plus champagne and mint juleps. If you come in wearing a Derby hat, you'll receive a free champagne starter.
