A La Mode Pies
The pie bakery's West Seattle location has concocted a boozy strawberry rhubarb milkshake, made with rhubarb compote, strawberries, fresh bananas, rum, banana liquor, vanilla ice cream, and a splash of piña colada.
The beloved bakery currently sells a berry pistachio dacquoise (made with pistachio baked meringue layers, berry mousse, white chocolate almond crunch, and a pistachio buttercream or berry glaze). Their spring menu includes colomba di pasqua (an Italian Easter bread); hot cross buns with candied orange peel, cranberries and dates with a streusel topping crossed with icing; brioche rolls; mousse desserts decorated to look like chicks, chickens, and chocolate bunnies and other seasonal decorations; and chocolate crosses, Easter bunnies, Easter eggs, and more.
Central District Ice Cream
For April, the lineup at the Central District ice cream shop known for its bold flavors includes Spring Violet, a floral violet-infused ice cream with edible flowers; Maple Shiitake Brown Sugar, a shiitake mushroom ice cream with a maple brown sugar blend; Avocado Toast, a throwback flavor with avocado ice cream with lemon, black pepper, and biscocho (Filipino biscotti) crumbles; Toyomansi, a soy sauce- and calamansi-flavored ice cream inspired by the Filipino dipping sauce of the same name; Buko Langka, a coconut and jackfruit ice cream with macapuno (coconut) and jackfruit bits; Abuelita Mexican Chocolate, a spiced chocolate ice cream inspired by the Mexican hot chocolate brand; Vanilla Cola; and Charcoal Black Sesame, a dairy-free activated charcoal and black sesame ice cream with a cashew and coconut milk base.
Seattle's oldest cupcakery's seasonal flavors include the Bee's Knees, a vanilla butter cupcake topped with streusel and a drizzle of creamed raspberry honey, and the Big Dipper, a rich chocolate cupcake frosted with meringue, dipped in chocolate, and topped with a candy pearl. Plus, for April, they'll also be offering their honey lavender latte made with lavender-infused GloryBee honey, and their caramelized honey toast ice cream, made with buttery toasted French bread chunks, a reduction of GloryBee clover honey, house-made apple jam, and a splash of Girl Meets Dirt quince shrub. In honor of Earth Day, all locations will be taking donations for GloryBee's Save the Bee fund, which aims to save the declining bee populations by promoting research, awareness, and education. Proceeds from the Bee's Knees cupcake on Earth Day will go towards the cause.
Frankie & Jo's
For April, the plant-based ice creamery is focusing on sustainability by incorporating elements that fight food waste. Their three seasonal flavors are Golden State, a coconut milk ice cream with ube, swirls of marmalade made with repurposed blood orange rinds, and sugar comb candy chunks; Spring Thyme, a returning flavor made with lemons from Imperfect Produce and an oat crumble made with maple vanilla waffle cone pieces and thyme; and Tend the Terra, the shop's first ice cream made with house-made hemp milk, with preserved rhubarb caramel and cacao nibs.
The bakery has dreamed up a gaggle of adorable pastries for Easter, including macarons decorated to look like baby chicks in raspberry, creamsicle, and chocolate buttercream flavors; leopard-print white chocolate Easter eggs; and an Easter cake (available through pre-order or by the slice) topped with chick macarons.
For April, the dessert emporium's molten cake of the month is the Sunbutter & Jam Molten Cake, a dark chocolate molten cake filled with salty sunflower seed butter, with tangy rhubarb jam, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and candied sunflower seeds on the side. Their vegan shake of the month is the Chamomile Caramel Vegan Shake, made with organic chamomile-infused coconut milk, dry-burned vegan caramel sauce, sea salt, and Frankie & Jo's plant-based ice cream.
The mad-scientist burger joint's April "experiments" include macaroni and cheese with roasted tomato guajillo; a pickled beet salad with mixed greens tossed in red wine vinaigrette, pickled beets, diced Gala apple, candied walnuts, and goat cheese crumbles; the "Barry" burger with grilled chicken breast, bacon, smoked gouda, lettuce, tomato, onion, and Mama Lil's smoked pepper mayo; the "Sodo Mojo" burger with a Kobe beef patty, seared andouille sausage, grilled onions, Mama Lil's peppers, guajillo cream cheese, and Satan's Tears Ketchup; the "Spring Vegan" burger with a Beyond Burger patty, pickled beets, Chao cheese, lettuce, avocado, and lemon vegan mayo; an M&M cookie dough milkshake; and a rhubarb milkshake.
Macrina Bakery's spring menu, available until May 15, includes colomba pasquale (an Italian Easter celebration bread), chocolate pecan babka, cinnamon swirl brioche, rosemary raisin rolls, buttermilk dinner rolls, coconut passionfruit cake, chocolate raspberry cake and cupcakes, chocolate raspberry cupcakes, mini raspberry rhubarb upside-down cakes, lemon meringue tartlets, berry pie, bird's nest cupcakes, mini lemon cheesecakes, coconut cream tartlets, mini banana walnut bread, and raspberry almond coffee cake rings.
Molly Moon's Ice Cream
This month, the local ice cream shop chain's four seasonal flavors are Optimism Fudge Porter, a fudgy, malty beer ice cream made with Optimism's Shift Porter and swirled with hot fudge; Sasquatch, a flavor named after the now-defunct music festival with a melted chocolate ice cream base, granola, Theo chocolate chunks, and vanilla bean caramel ribbons; Vegan Vietnamese Iced Coffee, a dairy-free and vegan flavor with organic French roast from Stumptown Coffee and house-made vegan sweetened condensed coconut milk; and Toast and Jam, a flavor with toasted chunks of Grand Central Bakery's Pullman loaf and jam made with Collins Family Orchard apricots, peaches, and nectarines. Their seasonal sundae is the Equal Pay Sundae, a sundae created to bring awareness to the gender pay gap, with a scoop of Optimism Fudge Porter ice cream, hot fudge, vanilla and chocolate cake chunks, whipped cream, and a Chukar cherry.
Nana's Green Tea
In celebration of spring, the Japanese chain has launched a series of cherry blossom specials made with strawberry ice cream from Sweet Alchemy, available all month. The Cherry Blossom Parfait includes layers of strawberry sauce, cherry blossom mousse, vanilla soft serve, crispy corn flakes, strawberry ice cream, cherry blossom bean paste, mochi, fresh strawberries, and whipped cream, while the Sakura Roll Cake features cake rolled with cherry blossom cream and a chewy mochi center, with edible cherry blossom flowers on top. There's even some stunning cherry blossom latte art.
Piroshki on Third
This downtown bakery is celebrating "Game of Thrones" season with Mexican hot chocolate cake "dragon eggs" fit for a khaleesi, with spiced chocolate mousse, dulce de leche cremeux, hazelnut praline, and feulletine crunch on a hazelnut dacquoise, available while supplies last.
The Central District doughnut shop's April flavors include strawberry balsamic, ube mochi, lemon thyme, the "Noodle" (a playful likeness of owner Mi Kim's dog Noodle in celebration of his adoption anniversary), coffee crullers (Fridays only), and birthday cake (Sunday only).

For April, the Portland-based artisan ice creamery is getting floral with its "Spring Flowers" series. The five Seattle flavors include Rhubarb Crumble with Toasted Anise, vanilla bean ice cream layered with homemade rhubarb jam and studded with fresh baked anise crumble; Wildflower Honey with Ricotta Walnut Lace Cookies, made with ricotta, local wildflower honey from Bee Local, and lemon, with chunks of oat and walnut lace cookies frosted with ricotta icing; Chocolate Rose Petal, a fresh rose petal-flavored ice cream with fudge mole with prickly pears, cinnamon, cherry and anise; Orange Blossom Sorbet with Edible Flowers, a vegan and dairy-free flavor flavor with a frozen orange blossom sorbet base with colorful edible flowers inside; and Urban Family Brewing’s Magnolia Saison, a flavor with a sweet cream base steeped in Urban Family Brewing's Saison Magnolia beer, with a swirl of a raspberry marmalade combined with magnolia oolong tea steeped in the same beer.
In honor of the return of "Game of Thrones," the ever-popular fast-casual burger joint will serve the limited-time Dragonglass Shake, made with white chocolate and mint custard with shiny black-dipped "dragonglass" toffee chips, through May 19. Especially fluent fans can even order in Valyrian, a language in the show's universe.
