I wish we could move on from these apocalyptic programs. Life is frightening enough without added doom, and it give stupid people the idea that they could survive without government intervention.
“We will head straight to Costco in the event of the world’s end.”
Exactly! The Washington Liberation Front has succeeded because they were able to obtain everything they needed, in bulk, immediately, from Costco. (Even soldiers for their army, it seems.)
@3: “Life is frightening enough without added doom,”
For most viewers, returning to the real world at the end of the episode brings a sigh of relief; this was part of the appeal “Game of Thrones” had. For you folks still residing in Seattle, each episode provides a brief, hopeful glimpse of what great heights modern Seattle could aspire to reach, if only it permanently rejects all of the Stranger’s political positions and candidates. ;-)

Almost everyone dead and the decaying city the site of protracted conflict between a militia and a religious cult? Amazing self own there bud.
@5: In the television version, Seattle looked completely free of zombies. (In a zombie-apocalypse story, no less.)
“… the site of protracted conflict between a militia and a religious cult?”
The Stranger currently contains several articles, each of which describes trouble in real Seattle from a hateful religious cult. In at least one of these articles, the Stranger ineffectually demands actions from other persons in the city, to stop this religious cult.
By contrast, in the fictional Seattle, residents have banded together, and take concrete actions, to rid themselves of a religious cult.
As I wrote, it’s an aspirational tale for you residents of the real place.
So what you're saying is they messed up the portayal of Seattle almost as bad as they messed up the portayal of the main character?
That show sucks for many reasons, the least of which are its somewhat inaccurate portrayal of Seattle.

Isn't the "big green square" on the map Volunteer Park/Lake View Cemetery? And, yeah, that huge wave in Elliott Bay was stupid.
