As a construction worker I am constantly noticing huge sexual innuendo in the equipment,materials and methods we use. "pecker head" is a legit technical term referring to the wires coming from an electric motor, "donkey dick" is what plumbers call a rubber air lock device, I could go on.

The point is that structures we "erect", the tools we use to do it, and the people who handle them are part of an almost exclusively male mind set and way of thinking; from city planners, architects, construction management, hardhats like me. Does the built environment shape the mindset? You bet your ass it does, if you have any doubts about if patriarchy exists, work on a concrete pour for a day on one of these highrises, watch how this structure resembles the sexual energy of the people who thought the thing up in the first place and the ones who were tasked with making that happen.
