DIVERSIONS

THURSDAY 10/5

GET HAPPY--Prozac isn't kickin' in? Paxil leaves you feeling sluggish? Then it's time to find a new way to deal with your depression. On the first Thursday of each month, doctors, counselors, and body workers join forces to help you with your battle against the blues and the nefarious Muddy Waters. Group Health Hospital, 201 16th Ave E, 528-9975, Main Building, Sixth Floor lounge, 7-9 pm, donations accepted.

FISH FEST--Dana Lyons (you probably know him as the "Cows with Guns Guy"), Jim Page, and the Raging Grannies are all joining the party to celebrate our scaled, oft-poached friend. Besides the entertainment, environmentalists, local union members, and activists will lead a discussion focusing on ways to help save the fish! Kane Hall at the UW, Roethke Auditorium, Room 130, 297-9460, 7 pm, donations accepted.

SATURDAY 10/7

BEAD BAZAAR--For 12 years now, the Northwest Bead Society has been holding their annual Bead Bazaar. And this year, they move their bazaar to a new location at the Seattle Center Flag Pavilion. If you make beads, make things with beads, or just like looking at beads, then you'll want to join the NBS at their new home to visit the numerous vendors and bead displays. Seattle Center, Flag Pavilion, 9 am-6 pm, donations accepted. For more information, send e-mail to marjorieburr@aol.com.

TUESDAY 10/10

RHYTHM CIRCLE--Bring your own drum or percussion instrument every second Tuesday of the month to the Women's Sacred Rhythm Circle. All levels of experience are welcome. Don't have a drum? Don't let that stop you, but arrive early--only a few extra instruments will be available. Pilgrim Congregational Church Sanctuary, Broadway and Republican, www.vulcanawolfe.com, 7-9 pm, $5.

WEDNESDAY 10/11

BOOK CLUB--Calling all bookworms! The Phinney Neighborhood Association has founded a new book club. The selection for this quarter is Lillian Nattel's The River Midnight. Please supply your own book. Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave N, 783-2244, 7-9 pm, free.
