The first photo looks an HDR — multiple exposures combined to make a surreal image. It may be beautiful, but it isn't completely real.
2
So, the twee little "living room" that was trekked around to suburban neighborhoods has been burnt down by someone who has no living room, and no neighborhood at all, let alone suburban......

Ironic.

3
What's awful is the overuse of badly done "HDR" images.
4
My guess is falling prices for real estate in Puget Sound forced the artist to "torch" his house for the insurance.

You should see the scene in person. It doesn't quite look real that way, either. I walked up to it this afternoon, in shock, my head saying "fake. real. fake. real." the whole way. That uncanniness aside, It's a terrible thing to have happen, and I'm glad it wasn't any worse.

this is something of a tangent, but I was pleased to read the bit about the firemen trying to preserve as much of the art as possible. They could have understandably just focused on putting out the fire, regardless of the damage. Right on!

HYPOTHESIS:

DOUBLE AGENT CREMASTER SIX (DEEP COVER 3+ YEARS) BEGAN HIS CAMPAIGN OF SABOTAGE AND TRAGEDY.

I QUOTE FROM AN ANONYMOUS ONLOOKER THE NIGHT PRIOR: "WHOA, THAT CAT LOVES TO PARTY."

INDEED HE DOEZ. WIT FLAME AND FUR. LAWRIMORE-SAN WAS REPORTED AS NOTING "HE WUZ PRETTY COOL WHEN WE GOT HERE [TO FIND THE GALLERY FUCKIN' AFLAME]"

I suspect it was Clement Greenberg and a 40oz malt liquor.
9
It's still art. They should charge $10k now.
10
My first though, when I saw the picture of the unburnt 'art' was, "How much is it renting for?"

The piece was cool. I saw it in Fall City a few years ago and there are images here: http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=20…

That sucks. Sorry about your art, SBC...

they need to raise the price...it now has a patina.

Please wait...
