Good post except I've actually never associated Georgetown, or any Seattle neighborhood/arts scene, with any one sex.
2
That's the shit we're calling art here? Damn, Seattle has lost all taste since 20 years ago.
3
Women can't make art; they are too dumb and vaginal--utterly fascinated with their evil bleeding organ.
4
Ouch, you left out The Firm which is certainly occupied by several artists, all men; yet curated by Michele Lee McMullen, a woman.
5
Julie Baroh at Krab Jab is a marvelous artist as well as a fine human being; it would be nice if you could correct the spelling of her name in this article.
6
So sorry on two fronts: Baroh, not Baraoh! I will correct!

And The Firm/McMullen: That is definitely an oversight. Definitely take the time to check it out!
7
This is the great downside with reading a magazine that covers a city on the other side of the planet... I just can't go on all the cool things mentioned.

Thank you for the post Jen! We had a lot of fun. But please don't forget about Heart of the Attack! HotA is a guided walking tour of Georgetown's Art Attack, led by Amanda Michele Dellinger. AMD also a woman artist and curator for three locations in G-town, including All City Coffee with Mary Enslow and this month at Georgetown Arts and Cultural Center, Ahh Nuts | Art Against Allergies, a benefit for a little boy who needs an allergen sniffing dog. You can find out more about all the fun things listed above by searching for it on Facebook. Cheers!

Thank you Jen! Other places of interest in Georgetown:
Waxing Impressions encaustic art of Deborah Stachowic (she shares space with ceramics artist Pamela Hathaway in the old Brewery building), Nupasa Art (Tina Routt), Susan Wheeler Home (really gorgeous home furnishings), Miss Sandra's Wax Sabbath Spa, Sara Arguete's Calamity Janes, Stellar Pizza (run by Lisa Steadman), and artist Sherri Gamble at Sage Artistry way up north in the Bertoldi Building. Mary Enslow is the lady behind The Stables, clearly one of the coolest buildings (and one of the oldest) in Seattle.

If you're looking for the purrrfect vintage coat or piece of antique, check out Alyssa Stevens' Fruit Cocktail collectibles! And at A Dog's Dream, Lori has $4 warthog chewtoys for Fido!

And we can never forget wonderful Amanda Dellinger, who lures visitors into our delicious Georgetown web with her Heart of the Attack tour.

I just remembered another good one - Totally Blown Glass, run by artist and entrepreneur, Dehanna Jones.

This is a superawesome women of Georgetown thread :)

I see you and raise you by ten thousand fold. SHUT UP!

Thank you Jen for visiting and talking about the variety of art to be seen in Georgetown! We love being part of the neighborhood.

Please wait...
