The year 2014âMMXIVâopens at Vermillion, bathed in a ghostly glow from the light fixtures on the walls, sculptures made by Seattleâs Dylan Neuwirth. Each is a tweet spelled out in cursive white neon letters, saying things like âgood morning hatersâ and âjust be your selfie.â They are the type of unmoored clever that leads back to no particular personality or event, except to all those hovering in the cyberlife of Twitter. Beneath each sculpture is a factory-made neon transformer strapped neatly to a cinder block with two black zip tiesâa unit resembling a cross between an antennaed television and a homemade explosive device.
