I could envision the Yankees having a total collapse. If Andy misses time then Sergio Mitre will not win as many games as he would have. I really don't think Phil Hughes will be able to take 200 innings as the number 3 pitcher in the highly competitive AL East. Mariano has missed some time and nobody could ever reproduce what he does, although Joba would probably be an above average closer. Posada has already gotten dinged up and Cervelli will not perform like he did at Fenway for any long stretch of time, opposing scouts would soon find the holes in his swing. I'm really hoping that SI cover jinxes them beyond all repair.
