Not to nitpick a sentiment I agree with, but "silent majority" (in the Nixonian sense) implies a non-vocal majority, i.e. the kind of people who don't do polls. Apolitical types who want law and order, whatever that means, and don't publicly admit it. That means the polls won't tell you they're out there. I don't think Trump has a silent majority, but if you're going to attack the slogan I wouldn't use polling data. [/pendant]
I drove up to the N. Cascades Nat'l Park for work on Monday and came back on Tuesday. I took the Arlington/Oso/Darrington route, and did not see one Trump sign, which was pretty surprising. Even more surprising was the number of Hillary signs I saw. I didn't expect those.
@4: Free speech doesn't mean people can't criticize what someone says, but more to the point here, no one was complaining about these people, just mentioning what they saw.
On the Benghazi tshirt item, why the assumption that "liberals" wouldn't wear something like that in Seattle? Are all Seattle liberals supporting Hillary suddenly because Dan Savage says so? Or did Dan write this "We Saw You" himself bc he hadn't reached his Hillary pandering quotient for the day?
Tearing bumper stickers off cars? My, my, how so very "tolerant" you are! Oh, you die-hard Seattle liberals! You say you're liberal but only if everyone else agrees with you. I consider myself fairly liberal but you PC whimpering babies in the Pacific Northwest need to grow the fuck up. I'm so sick of you folks ragging on people who believe differently than you. Pull your heads out of your asses, please."Oooo, all Republicans are evil! Oooo, all white people are inherently racist! Oooo, people who believe in God are deluded!". And on and on and on.
Catalina, Dear - I wish I could report the same about my drive out to Quincy last week on work assignment. Alas, The Donald seems to be in favor out there...along I-90, and then back up US-2 towards Wenatchee. Yeesh!
ctmcmull, that's central WA for you. Luckily, there's more livestock than people there (all that ag being thanks to the largess of the Federal government, but they never make that connection)
Presently living in Wenatchee here, I've seen all of two Trump signs within town. Most people here seem more focused on state/local elections here instead.
