Is "organic" cannabis available at retail stores?
3
Scott, organic cannabis is not available in Washington state because the USDA and the WSDA have not included Cannabis as an agriculture crop. Therefore it does not meet the requirement for organic certification. This doesn't mean a producer can not follow the organic method t just means they won't get a stamp from the state.

I have worked at two tier three legal grows and I have walked out of both of them because the lack of bad practices by the owners. It's amazing to me that only a few grows implement Integrated Pest Management.

If you want to succeed at growing a large scale operation, hire a consultant like myself and have your team trained properly so incidents and situations like these don't occur and ruin your branding and your business.

thank you Tobias for continuing to keep us informed about this! I suspect it's your reporting that got the Sea. Times to write that editorial on the subject.

Scott: as far as organic weed goes, if you have access to medical dispensaries, some of the products claim to be organic - but who exactly is going to confirm that? medical weed is completely unregulated.

Homegrows please. Large scale grows are great and hope they stick around, but this just shows that some of us need to opt out and grow our own instead of taking chances with our health. And when is the press going to expose the names of all the testing companies that have been commuting fraud by fixing the testing results? This is a serious issue and needs more exposure because empirical science and the scientific method are not what is currently being used. Can you show us a single study that has declared those levels of pesticides are safe when smoked or vaporized? Is the state actually prepared to do real science when it still has cannabis listed as a schedule one drug in order to keep the federal grant dollars coming? Why would your concern level be downgraded when they haven't actually done anything but pass some emergency rules without holding hearings, commissioned any studies, nothing! Patients with compromised immune systems and those with serious neurological conditions, cancers, etc., need to opt out and grow our own and have the right to designate a grower of our choosing so we can control what goes on our plants. Instead, the state is forcing patients into this mess by destroying our medical laws. This state is hell bent on punishing the poor and dismissing the concerns of those most effected by these policies.

Please wait...
