"This means, for the first time since legal weed went on sale in Washington, the state will operate a recreational market without a functional tracking database."

And here is the inevitable WSLCB fuck up that Jefferson Beauregard Sessions III will use as a reason to shut it all down.

Well this sounds like a grade A software fuckup on both development and procurement.

And then you: "One of our concerns right now is the fact that the data dump that is provided to the LCB also includes the sensitive scramble passwords contained within the database"

You were storing passwords in the database?

"Update: The LCB met with a group of industry stakeholders today and announced that MJ Freeway's new system will not be operational until Jan. 1, 2018, according to Smith."

Looks like Uncle Ike needs to get his ducks in a row, and fast, this isn't 2 days or 2 weeks, it's 2 months.

@1 - I thought the same thing, I've heard lots of things about the LCB and none of what I heard inspires confidence. If they mess this state up, there will be a lot of pissed off people here, myself included.

I dont think the WSLCB is at fault. This is a fundamental dysfunction of our bureaucratic process of Bids. It takes time to iron out a new system and yet we are swapping out a completely functional one so soon. New industry, new tech. It will be another year of patches and updates just to throw it out and grab a new one. WSLCB inherited the mess and they are doing the best they can, after all they are people just like us. Just my 7Cents.
