Over the weekend down in sunny Glendale, California, Wild Honey Orchestra hosted a benefit for the Autism Think Tank charity. The show featured the entire The Beatles aka the White Album, performed live by a ton of well-known musicians including: Dave Gregory from XTC, the Bangles' Vicki Peterson, Fairport Convention's Iain Matthews, Susan and John Cowsill, Steve McDonald from Redd Kross, and even Keith Allison (!) of Paul Revere & the Raiders. Obviously this event was for a good cause, but it also offered the rare chance to hear the infamous sample-assembled track "Revolution 9" performed live on a stage. Here is the most faithful version I've ever heard—the cool but orchestral Alarm Will Sound take notwithstanding!

If you'd like to skip the chatter, the song begins at about the 3:47 mark:

When I was in high school, "Revolution 9" was generally assumed to be the Fab Four's most "satanic drug" track. It had to be, of course, as it was SUCH a creepy distortion of reality! Oof. I loved it because I've always had an endless affection for ANY kinda music, clips or whatever, played backward.
