Lost in Time: Simon Edery (pictured here with Martha Linhoss) co-hosted a classic 70s roller disco alongside Lost Boys DJ/producer crew at Southgate Roller Rink last Friday. Brooklyn Benjestorf
The idea sprung from a surprise wedding-anniversary party Endry threw last October for his wife, Bella. Everyone had such a great time that Edery teamed up with Gene Lee of Lost Boys crew to start planning a public event. Brooklyn Benjestorf
Some skaters were clearly well practiced, while the majority hadn't skated in a decade or more—there were a few spills, but everyone was a good sport and looked out for each other on the floor. Brooklyn Benjestorf
The looks turned were truly impressive, with very few people out of costume, making the 70s spirit really come alive at the rink. Brooklyn Benjestorf
Last Night A DJ Saved My Life: With Gene Lee, Wesley Holmes (both pictured here), Sean Majors, and FouFoo taking turns spinning old-school tracks, the rink was treated to some of the best DJs around (and I don't just mean locally). As one skater put it, "We are so spoiled here in Seattle." Brooklyn Benjestorf
Lost Boys, officially Gene Lee, Sean Majors, and Eric Allen (who was busy playing a party in SF that night) formed in 2000 as a DJ crew, but quickly started collaborating to produce original tracks. Brooklyn Benjestorf
"The whole thing has been based in music since the beginning," says Gene Lee of Lost Boys, "but it's really about best friends at this point. Our friendships and history as much as anything at this point. There were many times over the years, when we only had each other. In many ways, we felt like orphans who had to rely on our friendships." Brooklyn Benjestorf
As evidenced by the ageless frivolity in the air that night, Lost Boys simply refuse to grow up. Brooklyn Benjestorf
Edery and gang intend to throw this party on a regular basis and are already schemeing on the next one—if you missed this one, keep an eye out for the future. Brooklyn Benjestorf
The next installment of Lost will be at the Monkey Loft on May 29, with Eric Allen, Brian Lyons, Pinky Promise and a back-to-back set from Sean Majors and Gene Lee. Brooklyn Benjestorf
