I got it! The motif is Shirt Stripes vs. Pier Pillars.

Well known pop group the Go-Go's had one of the HUGEST '80s hits, right? Their smash "We Got The Beat" became an instant and timeless anthem in 1981. It spent three weeks at No. 2 the Billboard Hot 100. (Meanwhile, the album itself, Beauty and the Beat, was at the top of the Billboard 200!)

But I bet y'all didn't know there was ALSO another group called the Go-Go's! Uh-huh, they were an early '60s SoCal surf band!

Yup, this earlier Go-Go's was a studio group and a bit of a cash-in on the early '60s surf/hot rod sound.

Their lone 45 was produced by well-known, and beloved, teen pop producer Gary Usher. Usher wrote songs with Brian Wilson, produced a TON of teener/surf records—including tracks by the Hondells and Dick Dale—and later he worked with heavyweights like the Byrds AND the Sons Of Adam!

The Go-Go's single, "Saturday's Hero" b/w "The Wild One," is credited as an Al Schmidt production. Schmidt was an engineer at RCA, but Usher arranged and produced the single session. The Go-Go's also have an LP, Swim With The Go-Go's, which was released in 1964.
