YOU GUYS. We raised so much money for Planned Parenthood in the last two weeks—a whopping $13,387! Yaaayyyyyyyyy.

Not many of you seem to want free tickets to cool stuff, however (apparently you're all fine just being generous human beings without reward!). BUT WE HAVE FREE THINGS TO GIVE YOU, and so we shall.

In no particular order, here are the five best submissions we received about why Planned Parenthood is important (not all of you followed that "100 words or less rule," but that's okay; we'll be contacting you shortly via email in order to send you your prize). Thanks again to everyone who donated! (Psst: You can still donate.)

1. Why I fund Planned Parenthood? It is 9/11 and we need to remember that terrorists don't just fly planes into buildings. They throw bombs into clinics right next door, too. Don't let these people terrorize your mom, your wife, your sister, or you. It's your body and Planned Parenthood should always be there when you need them.

2. Planned Parenthood is the one place a patient in need can visit where they are guaranteed to receive safe, honest information about all available options to meet their healthcare needs, with no fear of judgment or condemnation. As their logo states, "Care. No matter what." No one should be robbed of the spectrum of resources and services provided by Planned Parenthood due to narrow-minded neighbors or a culture war waged with lies.

3. Life is better for everyone when women have full control of their bodies, health, and fertility.

4. I am the proud father of three children, including a 21-year-old female college student. I am a strong believer in women's right to reproductive choice, and I am appalled at the domestic violence against women's health care facilities by domestic terrorists that seek to deny women their right to access quality medical care.

Planned Parenthood plays a vital role in delivering contraceptive services to women in nearly 500 counties across the United States. In one fifth of these, Planned Parenthood sites are the sole safety-net family planning centers.

The now well-debunked phony video tapes ostensibly showing PP staff members "selling baby parts" were apparently shown to GOP members of the House long before they were released to the public. There is a growing mountain of evidence showing that the attack on the Pullman facility was coordinated and well planned, and perhaps YEARS in the making. The anti-abortion group "Center for Medical Progress" invited a number of Republican leaders to private screenings of their highly edited video tapes. On the Tuesday morning of the first video's release, the House bill to defund Planned Parenthood already had 307 co-sponsors in Congress.

I Stand With Planned Parenthood, and I strongly support them and the vitally important work they do in screening for breast cancer, STD's, providing contraceptives, and more.

A Woman's Right to Choose must NOT be taken away because of violent religious extremists seeking to impose their will on a constitutionally protected medical procedure. GOP members of the House are complicit in this attack, and may soon bring our government to a THIRD shutdown. This is unacceptable.

5. Planned Parenthood is affordable access to basic health care. Allowing women affordable access to basic health care and family planning provides the foundation of an equitable society, one in which both men AND women have equal opportunities to achieve goals. Access to health care and birth control also stems poverty by enabling both single women and couples to responsibly plan the growth of their family, thereby freeing them to actualize career goals. Our modernity is based on this equal opportunity for every member of society, so it is imperative to maintain access to the services that enable it.
