People are continuing to react to the George Zimmerman verdict. On Saturday night, when Zimmerman was declared not guilty, my Twitter and Facebook feeds, and real life conversations, were filled with a lot of disbelief and rage. Now, as people have had time to settle, more positive things are happening. I’ve seen some friends start volunteering at the ACLU, others have donated money to anti-gun organizations, and, of course, a lot of people are signing NAACP’s petition urging the Department of Justice to open a civil rights case against Zimmerman. The petition has nearly half a million signatures.
Stevie Wonder is taking action, too. He promises to not play any place with Stand Your Ground laws.
