The Monkey is a U-District bastion of unpretentious good times, with healthy pitchers, big tables, and excellent garage and indie rock coming through the speakersโand sometimes in person. Anna Minard says, "The Monkey Pub is a fucking winner. On a friend's recent birthday, all the regulars, including the bartender and karaoke host, sang her songs and changed the lyrics to include her name. That is the kind of neighborhood dive it is." She also highly recommends trivia night.
