yummy, huge, and greasy
the sandwiches are really big. you will feel like you ate lead, but they taste and smell really good.

How Hum
The food is over priced, bread is large and stuff inside is meager. The interior is real cheezy and the wait staff needs an atitude adjustment...........
I live in the neighborhood and have been there a half of a dozen times and it is never any great food. Needs more food for the money.

Awesomeness
Best fries and sandwiches on the Hills. I can't believe I see people lined up at nasty Subway when this sandwich heaven is a block away.

Badass Burgers
I've only been here two or three times, but the western sky burger is fucking AMAZING. Also, my server let me get it with chicken instead of beef once.. I've always had good service, even if the fries aren't the greatest.

big smooth
i eat the tempeh sandwaich (big smooth) almost every time. i crave it. always satisfied. the fries are a must. one of my favorite places in seattle.

Horrible Service
The sandwiches are good, but what I really like about this place are the fries and onion rings. However, I wish the same coule be said about the people working there. After a takeout incident the other night, I called the restaurant and had to talk to 3 different people to get my issue resolved. One of these people included the cook, who has to be the rudest person ever. Seriously this guy was a dick. He should not yell at paying customers when it was clearly their fault. I also agree with a previous poster that something has changed recently and not for the better.

too much flavor for too little space
This place is amazing. I'm impressed with everything I've had on the menu. Every time I end up here, it usually means standing & waiting & drooling over others' eats.

Always a safe bet.......
This place is guaranteed to satisfy you. Either with a giant well prepared sandwich or a strong well made cocktail. I mean how could you turn down the chance to have finger licking good sandwich as well as a liver punching strong drink? Always a winner.

Enormous buns (and that's a good thing!)
Full disclosure: I'm a bread maniac. To me, nothing makes a more satisfying meal than a massive fixin' of yeast, grain, wheat and flour. So you can imagine my reluctance when a buddy of mine dragged me to the famous sandwitch dive "The Honey Hole." I mean, why taint a perfectly good loaf with superficial, unnecessary fixin's?
However, I was suprisingly delighted by the enormous buns that enveloped the barely present pastrami, thousand island dressing, and sour crout. The menu stated that I was eating a "Rubin," but to me it just tasted like a big hunk of Jewish marble rye. YUM! Finally, a sandwitch shop that gets it right: bread should compete with fixings -- compete and win. So, although I would have prefered to stay in at my apartment and emasticate a starchy slab of sour-dough, the "Honey-Hole" was the next best thing. Two baggetes up! WAY UP!

damn fine sandwich
If your a vegetarian you must enjoy one of the finest sandwiches available.. only at the honey hole. The EL GUAPO. I suggest you add avocado and enjoy this amazing hangover remedy, packed with hot veggies and melted smoked gueda. YUM!

Not great...
Finally had a chance to eat here and wish I hadn't. Would have much preferred one of the hot dog vendors in the area.

Plates of Shame & Regret
The smell as you walk by on the sidewalk should tell any potential customer what awaits them inside the Honey Hole. Back in the day this place used to be a killer sandwich shop (with the same name). After the liquor license (and a change in management no doubt) the sandwiches became a cruel reminder of the gentrification taking place in that neighborhood. This place is one of my watermarks for the decline and fall of Capitol Hill. Goodbye yummy food and affordable housing. Hello million dollar condos and shabby chic "dive bars."

Do the Honey Hole
The Texas Tease, you say? Indeed. The Honey Hole offers a bit of sandwich heaven. From burgers and pulled pork to pizza and artichoke dip so yummy, clogging the arteries never tasted better. You’re a vegetarian? No fretting…HH has considered you as well with several veggie options, including a personal fave El Guapo. The only gripe is that sometimes the bread or roll is enormous; I prefer the bread to complement, not compete with, the fixings (although I haven't noticed this as much recently). Getting a table on weekend evenings can be difficult, so plan accordingly or learn the virtues of patience because the HH delivers, baby.

Mmmm
Best damm sandwiches this side of NY. Chachi's Favorite is my favorite, for a while there I was having one almost every day. The Buford T. Justice is a close second. They also have a nice salad, a good vege menu and I love the bar at night.

Don't get it.
I have never understood why people rave about this place. It's not bad, really, but it's certainly never seemed like more than a sandwich, with sandwich fixings on it. Like a sandwich I would make at home, for myself, with some supplies I bought at the supermarket. Nothing wrong with that, but nothing that earns all the "we have to go clear across town for a Honey Hole sandwich during our lunch hour so we only have three minutes left to actually eat it but it's SO worth it!" Huh?

Go there!
I have never been disappointed with any of the sandwiches at the Honey Hole. They are always VERY GOOD! The fries are perfect as well. Golden and crisp on the outside soft on the inside.
It's like a rush of warm blood to the head. At it's best intoxicating at it's worst tasty and messy.

pirate ship
There's a new movie out about pirates, and in it the pirates are paraded around like little weiner men, cutified and made ridiculously humorous, instead of mean sonsofbitches who would not tolerate that clean, white toothed woman walking around their boat half-nude the entire flick without molesting her constantly or throwing her overboard. The meaning of PIRATE is so diluted that I fear the next generation won't remember what it was really like. I mean, we used to PILLAGE man! Really get in there and pillage, and drink rum day and night and sing songs of glory and scrub the deck every once in awhile. My point is that going to the Honey Hole is like being on a pirate ship of yor. It rocks as if on waves. And the captain, that guy who plays guitar for the Rolling Stones, from an oversized picture on the wall, looks out over the galley as if to say, "eat you spineless shitheads, for tomorrow we die!"

Not Bad
I've eaten here more than I care to admit and consider it a pretty solid place to get a sandwich and a beer. It can be tough to get a seat from time to time but on the whole it's not too bad (not excellent either). My personal favorite is El Capitan.

crispy french fries!
This place has the greatest french fries, because they are crunchy and yet tender in the middle. I don't know what they do to them. So good.
