Best sushi on the Ave

There isn't much competition in the immediate area, but BoB has the best sushi on the Ave. I often drop $20 for a Rainbow Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, and Salmon Skin Roll there. Service has always been fast and friendly.

Yuck, waste of money

The bibimbap tasted terrible, and it shouldn't be hard to make bibimpab taste good. Too much unseasoned dried shitake mushrooms, and the egg was fried brown and rubbery. There wasn't enough meat, maybe enough to fill a starbucks shotcup, if that. How embarrasing, the customer doesn't matter, and when that occurs, the business soon has a "UNDER NEW MANAGEMENT" banner.

it really is the Best of bento

I have found Best of Bento to be a good place if you want good Japanese food at a low and fair price. Their menus are easy to understand in regards to what you are ordering and what you are paying. Their service is quick and friendly and they are rarely packed or extremely busy. Their combo boxes are nice because there are the three options and with the Combo A you can have one of your picks be from any of them which is very nice and makes the decision a lot easier. It is nice because it allows me to have chicken teriyaki and vegetable tempura (it is actually just tempura but I always ask for them to replace the shrimp with more vegetables). It taste good and at these prices you really cannot expect to find food that is so amazing you could just die. It is food that is very good for the price range that college students are looking for. My experience there has always been good because I am a very picky eater and have found that, unlike a lot of my fellow students, eating a larger quantity of food that is cheaper and taste like it isn’t enjoyable to me. I prefer to find food that may be in less quantity but is of much higher quality.

Meh.

Maybe it was an off night, but my chicken teriyaki was rubbery and overall not good. I also didn't like my California rolls. For me, the best teriyaki on the Ave is at Nasai...

Best Teriyaki on the Ave

I've tried every teriyaki joint on the the Ave; Best of Bento is the best. Friendly, unpretentious, and generous. My girlfriend and I can split a plate and both be full. Plus they have a selection of Japanese beers to go with your meal.

Fav 'yaki on The Ave

Though a friend swears by Nasai Teriyaki (which I'm not sure I've tried) this is my "go-to" place for teriyaki on the Ave. IMO, the food is excellent (and I've never seen the place even close to empty, so I think plenty of people agree w/ me) and the prices typical (i.e., not over-priced, but not dirt-cheap either). But what I like most is the "you-choose-your-combo" menu: rather than dictating a limited number of ways they're willing to combine the various entrees they serve, they just lay 'em all out there and say "Hey, you choose; if you choose these, you pay this, if choose these, you pay this," etc.) Oh, and the full glass store front, the light colored wall paint, and the overall lighting in the place provides, esp. at lunch in the winter for those of us afflicted w/ SAD, an inviting change of place from the general dimness of so many of the other 'taunts on the Ave. Speed: so-so. Overall: highly recommended.

Simple, quick, & really pretty decent. The service was very nice when I went. And there is a good combination of veggie and non-veggie options.
