Reliable Thai

Been to Ayutthaya ~10 times, have had identical experiences every time. The food is consistent, but perhaps consistently average. It doesn't wow me quite like Bahn Thai used to before they told me they wouldn't deliver to Capitol Hill, but Ayutthaya is pretty good. Services is always good, the Tom Kha and other soups are quite tasty. The Thai iced tea is a bit on the sweet side, and some of the chicken curries can be a little stringy. Massuman beef is too tender.

Anywhere else but here

I recently moved to the Pike/Pine corridor after having lived up 16th and Republican. My local Thai place was Jamjuree, but now its a bit too far for a quick bite. So, I thought I would try this place. It was horrible in comparison to the Thai place on 15th Ave. So very very bland. The waitress recommended the Tamarind chicken which is a fave of mine. The sauce was flavorless and there was just chicken. No veggies at all. And they were out of brown rice. Huh? My dinner guest had a simple curry that was just OK. I think I was spoiled by the living 2 blocks from best Thai restaurant in the city. I need to find a new place in the area for my Thai food fix.

Friendly, cozy and well priced

The hostess was incredibly nice, my takeout came so quickly that I barely waited, and the setting was simple and comfortable. The food was good and spicy, and great sized portions for the price. Not for a fancy meal

Whoa mama! Best Thai in the city!

I'm sick of Thai. Aren't you sick of Thai? After twelve years in the city I'd rather get my feet scraped than go for Thai. Unless we're talking Ayutthaya Thai. The atmosphere is a little dumpy, but overlook that and you'll get the best damn spicy green beans with tofu this side of the planet. I've been eating here for seven years, the food is consistently delicious, the staff is courteous, and the meals hold up well as leftovers. I haven't found better Thai in Seattle, though lately, yeah O.K., I've stopped looking.

Wide Rice Noodles

Yum. In their Puget Sound Noodle Soup, in their Ayutthaya Noodles, there is no better Thai comfort food on the Hill. Been eating here for years and it's always good, fresh, fast and tasty. Plus, they have the nicest waitstaff around.

Great Place Goddammit

Right now, my wife is boiling eggs for dinner. She's like, "You want some egg salad?" And I'm like, "Okay." But why? Why fucking egg salad? I go, "Let's walk to Ayutthaya instead." And she goes, "Yeah!" And I go, "Yeah." And that's enough to get me happy cause it's an easy authentic place. And they know me cause I always order the same thing- spicy basil fried rice with prawns. And the people are great. If you go there in the late afternoon sometimes you can see them all eating together- like they're a family.
