Green star Taqueria Tequila (Greenwood)

301 NW 85th St
Seattle, WA 98117
(206) 784-4699

A well-loved local spot, Taqueria Tequila is noted for fresh ingredients, good prices, and no-bullshit, cafeteria-style atmosphere. Its adjoining bar serves its namesake liquor and, sometimes, Spanish-language soap operas in an equally basic setting with notably good deals on cheap beer and tacos.

It's OK

I would compare it to Tacqueria Guaymas, maybe a little better. The carnitas can be a little dry sometimes, and they've been known to charge a little "Gringo Tax", which is annoying. Nice atmosphere -- no phony Cinco de Mayo corporate charm, just nice and ordinary. I go here for tacos quite often; I think of it as a taco truck that's not in a truck. That's a compliment.
