Aoki is the best sushi value on Broadway. It costs more than the conveyor-belt place and Hana, though not a ton more, and it's worth it; it costs around the same as or less than Pinto Thai Bistro and Sushi Bar, and while it may be less stylish, it's more spacious and tranquil (and concentrates on Japanese food, leaving the Thai out of it). The udon and other hot favorites are also standbys. The neighborhood has enjoyed the little golden-wood sushi bar and the somewhat dizzying red-and-white striped booths in the back for years now. Cheap but dignified

I've only been here once, but it was great. Really good green tea, good sushi, and very nice atmosphere. No wait (for Saturday lunch), great service, and nice tables and room. I loved the food. Cheap enough to satify a student's budget. Eat here!

awesome!

i go here an average of once per week. the fish is always fresh and the pieces are of average size. order the slightly differently prepared agedashi tofu; you will thank me later!

Very Good

I have eaten there several times and always come away happy. Rice is the landscape for sushi and they get it right. I enjoy the cheerful attitude of the staff. Perfect place for any occasion.

Best Sushi on Broadway...

but some of the hot dishes were just OK. Go for the sushi and you won't be unhappy. I once saw Christian Slater eating there in the late 90's. I don't know if that says anything about the food, but it was an added treat!

really great

i'm new to eating sushi alone. someone broke me in... and now i try to do it alone as much as possible. i sat at the bar for the first time here. the chef was really nice and helped me decide what i wanted and helped me with proper etiquette. i was lucky to pick such a great place. the sushi was amazing.

Impressed

Went here for the first time this week. The place smells good for a start...a slight whiff of delicate incense in the air. The wait staff very friendly. The green tea they bring you right away--lovely and good quality. Had various sushi rolls and then Salmon Teriyaki. All just delicious. Great value!

Real crab!

Aoki gets a big thumbs up by me because they use real crab in their California rolls. The service has always been friendly and quick and the presentation impeccable.

Sake, Sushi, Saba

Have been going here for years, and is my favorite restaurant. I am preferential to shushi but have tried and liked many dishes. Yakisoba is great.

The Handrolls

The Temaki! Oh lord, how I love the Temaki! Saba, california, oh man. The temaki. Sweet and nice and great for a date. You can feel that it's a step above Hana and slightly more, authentic, or, less americanized I guess is the right term. Cheap and real and good. Pleasant staff. Nice atmosphere. EAT HERE!
