Accept it for what it is

If you're looking for a place for your bachelorette party, a co-worker's birthday party or your aunt Ethel's retirement party, come here. The food is inoffensive, and there is lots of it. The jug wine is barely drinkable, and there is lots of it. If you are looking for a place to go as a couple, look elsewhere. Seattle is full of good restaurants with better food and ambiance.

fun for the right mood

OK, I can't disagree with any of the complaints but I've always had a good time here. There's SO much to look at with the crazy decor, and the "family-style" portions are so gigantic that you have to be careful ordering. The fact that the food is plain can be a bonus...think large amounts of out-of-town Italian-American guests for example. They don't want a fucking West Coast pizza with (gasp) chicken on it, they want a PILE of alfredo. So, good for large groups. Also, I must admit I had a great time here as a party of two, if only because we had a long wait and got hammered on Manhattans at the bar, and then ordered the jug (really, it's a jug) of wine. It was a blast. This place is a guilty pleasure.

I'd Rather Eat At Buca Di Nacho

Any town worth it's salt has a place called Buca Di Beppo and none of them ever serve Nachos, so you know...you've been warned.

crowded and boring

Heads up to those no longer in high school: do not, repeat do NOT, go to Buca's during prom season... It's where all the kids go, because the food is plain (read: everyone pretty much can tolerate it) and the restaurant can seat large groups. Unless you're a sucker for crowds and boring food, this isn't probably the place for you. Should you find yourself forced to be there, order the garlic bread... it has real slices of garlic on it!
