The executive class will ensure that the extra labor cost will be payed the consumers. They will never allow the wealth to trickle down. My small business will simply have to avoid hiring or lay people off in order to stay in business. Seattle is getting to be a very expensive city for individual businesses which is why you see more big chain stores and restaurants take over. They can afford it.

It's a great video. What we should be asking is how much do the executives of these fast food chains make ? How about stockholders ? Why do they get all the benefits of this out-of-balance business model ? They don't provide the goods or services, but they get most of the money.

Apparently, god wants Sound Transit to have the property. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to buy it. God gets what god wants afterall.

Rents are impossibly high for small business restaurants. Its a wonder any individual eatery can survive in this economic climate. That's why we see the same owners with multiple establishments.

The operators of Storyville told my friend they were a charity dedicated to raising money to stop human trafficking. They did not mention any religious affiliation.

Broadway cannot be more like Pike/ Pine because most of the commercial property landlords are insanely greedy and charge more than any independent, small business can afford. That's why you see banks and Starbucks and high end stores and restaurants. Be certain that whatever small retailers still exist on Broadway are barely making it.

Cheap goods ? The clothing and shoes aren't exactly cheap as if the company is passing the savings on to the consumer. They are exploiting cheap labor to increase their already obscene profits at the executive level.

@27. If it's "just a game ", then why does the city subsidise the stadium ?

What server makes enough in tips to afford health insurance on the open market ? They must be the best server in the world or they found some super, cheap plan that has an enormous deductible.
