One note ... yes, he's a suspect, but this guy hasn't been convicted of anything. I also haven't read yet that he confessed. Not a real shock that he got shot, either. I am sort of surprised the cops didn't kill him.

the city really isn't being protected when the cops are this freaked out ... how many police cruisers in town didn't show up at that spot tonight? methinks they seek revenge. not that I really blame them.

Personality-wise, you can tell that Mallahan is used to getting exactly what he wants. McGinn is used to people not agreeing with him, and having to argue and scrap for what he needs. You stick those two guys in a room together and the scrapper always comes out with a fully belly.
