@9 For the same reason I think its a good idea to let kids have some when appropriate. Not a full glass or anything, but if they want to try a sip of wine or beer I think letting them develop a better outlook.

I would have no problem letting a teen have a glass of wine with dinner so long as they were responsible.

I would kindly tell the parents that they can find another person to watch their kids. Getting shitfaced around kids is not a great thing to do but a glass of wine (or two or three)? Who gives a shit?

I would also be a little annoyed at getting a list of rules when I was doing someone a favor.

@3, so? What's the rush. I mean yeah ideally it would be nice to know sooner, but its not that big of a deal. It wasn't even a week and in a really close race speeding up the counting will only get to the recounting and fighting sooner.

Its also not like the County is rolling in money right now. How about we keep the public health clinics staffed, restore the lost bus service, and increase mental health funding before we spend a couple million on making sure we know the winner right away.

This is not a big deal. At all.

Many, if not nearly all, of the long term homeless population(discounting the people say living in their car because they are temporarily out of work), have already lost a home due to substance abuse or mental illness. Giving them another to lose helps no one.

How about we bring back mental institutions? Because the only other real alternative is to try and hide the problem.
