Some good comments on the NYTimes article - he couldn't stay in school, so his parent's health insurance couldn't provide mental health coverage, and someone else made the excellent point that he's competent now only because he is on medication. We keep seeing similar incidents, over and over, and we do nothing to prevent them. Mind-boggling.

Be aware that Netflix cuts out bits - tiny bits, but significant to the whole. We compared with the DVD (and the on-air version) and found more than ten chunks gone in just the first episode.
