G.O.P. Purity Resolution.
Goddamn the current GOP misreads Reagan at every turn. Reagan was successful BECAUSE he was likeable, even by Liberals who hated his policies. He never made the GOP take a purity test: he wanted the liberal Rockerfeller Republicans on board as well as the religious right-wingers.
In fact, I'd say one of Reagan's greatest successes was the level of mastery at which he would keep all these diverse segments of the Republican party aboard and proud to be a Republican.
So if the current GOP are following that 8 out of 10 rule will they be kicking out former Republican first ladies like Barbara Bush and Betty Ford then? I don't think they would fit into such a narrow definition. Hell, I'm not so sure Reagan himself would.

Cantwell Will Vote Against Any Health Insurance Reform Bill That Limits Abortion Funding.
I don't quite understand why abortion is such a deal-breaker on this. If Truman's health care plan had passed in 1948 I don't think it would have included abortions.
Look, we're fixing a mistake we've missed over and over since about WWII (Nixon had a health care plan that does more than this one).
Can't we have the abortion debate--and who pays for abortions--seperate from this and just get Democrats to get it passed?

Lunchtime Quickie: Moobs.
Those are implants, and so are the ones on his shoulders.
To me though doesn't "moods" or "bitch tits" refer to giggly fatty man boobs? Not over worked out pecs, no matter how freaky. Although with this guy its clearly implants.

Sullivan: "More power to the Mormons.".
Yes, that is so tolerant of the Mormon Church to agree that gay people have the right to EARN A LIVING and maybe even the right to RENT AN APARTMENT.
I don't see the big news here. Surely most Christian groups don't even argue against those two things do they?
I fear Sullivan and others are giving too much credit here.

The Abortion Amendment.
FDR had to leave "domestic workers" (AKA black southern poor people) out of Social Security for the first go-through in order to get the votes. They fixed it later.
The Democrats--after a 40 year GOP dominance--are now the "big tent". It's going to suck a lot.
