Sunset Lanes used to be the spot for karaoke in Ballard. I seem to recall karaoke at the Golden Shitty, but that might have been a one-off thing.

Dante has been working on that place forever. I'm glad it's finally open.

If you live on or near Ballard Ave (or are just drinking there), your convenience store options are somewhat, er, inconvenient - the 7-11s on Market and on Leary Way, and that dollar store on Market which doesn't stay open that late. If you need a pack of smokes or some gum (or soft serve), this is going to be a godsend.

I sold tapes (TAPES!) to the 42nd St store for, I dunno, cigarette money or something when I was a kid. I loved the 'mystery packs' around Christmas, even though I ended up with a New Kids On The Block CD once. After Peaches/Beehive closed, C. Square became my go-to record shop for years and years. I walked out with a stack of $0.50 vinyl a just couple of weeks ago. Sad news indeed.
