Cap Hill Is Becoming a Little Like What?.
I think so many people jumped on the racial diversity because some of the early comments were aimed at Bellevue being 'whitey-town.' Now we wanna talk about class as diversity...an excellent evolution of thought.
so how do we discuss this in a way that has satisfying villains and victims?

Capitol Hill is fine, but nothing special. It is certainly nowhere near as ethnically diverse as Bellevue. It does have a high concentration of under 30s, is very LGBT friendly, and has a small 6 block radius of interesting stuff.
The B&T comment seems stupid and retrograde. Responsible, environmentally-minded folks live near where they work-and sadly capitol hill doesn't have much in the way of non-service sector jobs. So those folks can either come to CH once or twice a week, or they can commute to work 5 days a week. Which is a better use of roads and energy?

"She told officers that the suspect was not there but her demeanor said otherwise.".
I have heard from several cop acquaintances that DV calls are the most frustrating (and very dangerous). One guessed that something like 60% of the time the victim actively prevents (or tries to prevent) them from doing what they want to do, which is arrest the aggressor. We all know there are a million reasons why that happens- but still, annoying and expensive.

Ivan & Alyosha's Gear Gets Stolen, Rhapsody Gives 'Em $10,000, but They Still Want Your Cash.
So trying to maximize the functionality while minimizing the properties of space, weight and liability is kinda the most important thing around gear and touring. A couple of the ways we do this:
1 backup guitar for 2 guitarists - we've never needed 2 backups
Carry a small, flexible backup head - we have a GK 400rb that fits under my seat.
On airplane tours use a telecaster -no way my 65 SG is getting checked
Make sure all your guitars are set up for roughly the same strings- 13s and 9s don't mix.

I too hate to hear about bands' shit getting stolen. People often give us a hard time when they see us load everything into the hotel room at night, and laugh at the pictures of 4 dudes and a van load of gear crammed into a Motel 6 room...but we've never had anything stolen (yet).
But looking at this gear list, I just don't understand. There is no cause for taking this much stuff out on the road with you unless you're fucking Sonic Youth or something. I am pretty methodical about touring and I think of it this way:
Everything you take has 3 properties-
1) Space -it takes up room, and requires vehicle space to transport
-if you need so much space that you require a trailer, you just reduced mpg by 25%
2) Weight -the more weight you are carting around, the worse your mpg.
-you move every piece of gear 6 times (into van, into club, onto stage, off stage, into van, into storage/motel)-that is a lot of extra work.
3) Liability - every piece of gear requires maintenance, spare strings, drum lugs, washers, tubes.
-Every piece of gear can be damaged, stolen, lost.

Foie Gras Tastes Like Cat Food.
So I've never understood why people place such high value on animal life but so little on plant life. Plants are every bit as much alive, and in some cases even react to stress and violence. But even the most overwrought vegan thinks nothing of those deaths.

Who the Fuck Puts Blinders on a Building?.
I have a west-facing office over the sound. I would estimate that maybe 40-50 days out of the year I am absolutely roasted in the afternoon.
These work well for some applications. What I'd really like is an engineered awning that sits at the right angle so I get sun through the winter, but when the sun is higher the window is shaded.
I assume @28 is affiliated with these fine folks in some way.
