Kinky People Are Kinky.
What I always teach my students is that for a behavior to be considered "abnormal" it has to be some combination of
atypical (doesn't happen a lot)
disturbing (violates social norms/bothers others)
maladaptive (prevents you from living a happy healthy life)
unjustifiable (there's no reason for engaging in the behavior)
I can see how some kinks would bother others and, in turn prevent you from living a happy, healthy life (someone repeatedly arrested for voyeurism, for example). Including that in the DSM simply says "we could possibly help this person get better with therapy" rather than "lock him up/fine him/preventing from living around people with windows." I don't see the problem with the inclusion.

He's Mormon and He's Gay and He's Coming Out.
I give him two years of celibacy, tops (at least, for his sake, I hope so). First, because he's cute, second because he said himself "for living a lonely celibate mortal life is a taste of hell, and the possibility that a person might "fall away" is always possible." Who chooses that forever? I hope he finds a god who loves him (if that is what he wants).

Haters Gonna Hate.
Hey asshat @ #9: my husband had cancer, and now he and I can't make a baby either. Should I draw up the divorce papers now, since our marriage otherwise has no value?
Done engaging the trolls now.

Little Smokies.
Just putting it out there that a lot of people who share mostly similar religious beliefs with these guys (actually MOST people who share religious beliefs with these guys) feel the same way as you, Dan. Regardless of whether you love or hate religion in general, it's important to remember that every religious tradition has varying degrees of insanity.

SL Letter of the Day: Limping Out.
Perhaps the little blue pills make him last so long it's uncomfortable for her, but she doesn't want to bring up the possibility of lube or her own lack of stamina. Or maybe her being on top isn't so important to her. I could go the rest of my life without being on top and be a happy lady. Anyway, the point here is that more communication is key, along with all that other stuff that Dan suggested.

SL Letter of the Day: Show This Woman Some Love.
Your nephew lives in a world where he could come out almost 10 years before you could, and he had someone to go to when he did. And you will live to see a time when the bigotry of your family is as reviled as the KKK. You've been able to build a family, and now you have the opportunity to have a member of your blood family join you in it. It will be a hard, long road, but it will also be amazing. Good luck.

Christian Love In Action.
It is horrible that a person has to deal with this after the death of her partner. And, as horrible as it is, it is the prerogative of the church to make this decision. Freedom of religion means that religious institutions get to make whatever wrongheaded decisions they want regarding how they practice faith. Freedom from religion means that those of us who don't believe in that faith get to walk away from those decisions. My grandparent's synagogue wouldn't bury me with my Catholic husband - I married him anyway. And when the time comes, hopefully in the very distant future, we'll figure out what to do that is embracing of the realities of our lives.
