Mandela's goodness had nothing to do with South Africa. He would have been who he was and done what he did wherever he lived. It was coincidental that his home was extraordinarily needy of his goodness.

I don't think the showdog organizations breed for looks (as in attractiveness); they just arbitrarily decide what hysical details should be exemlar of a certain breed, and those details eventually become "the dog" because the breeders win money at the shows.

LW essentially says he's not a bland-looking guy, so both women will no doubt remember him. If he likes one of the women, doesn't like the other (but both of them like him), and continues to date the one he likes, he will INEVITABLY meet the other one at a social occasion. Colleagues in the same deartment in the same college in a small town socialize with each other (whether they want to or not). That would be a very uncomfortable situation for everyone.
