The best thing about the BottleNeck Lounge may be that there's nothing all that special about it: Two nice, sensible women opened a nice, sensible place to drink in a place that needed exactly that. The owners claim the Bloody Marys are the best in Seattle.

Great neighborhood joint

This place is a solid bet for a good drink & fun time. Disagree with the 'cocktail menu' comment - solid collection of booze and well made drinks. Yes, if you are looking for some sort of foo-foo drink made with Himalayan glacier water you are going to be SOL. We've been in about a dozen times and had great experiences every time.

Little cold and drink could use some work

The people are very nice but the decor could use a little warmth (I agree, don't make it fancy... just warmer) and maybe work on the cocktails menu a little. It's a good effort but maybe they could go try some of the drinks at BOKA for some ideas. Still, it's nice that they are there.

I love pirates

I went to the Bottleneck Lounge last night for their pirate party and it was freakin' great. There were so many people dressed in pirate outfits. It was the best damn pirate party ever. I love this bar, it kicks some major ass!

great little neighborhood pub

obviously the first reviewer has no idea what he's talking about. it's hardly a dyke bar. it's a neighborhood bar that is exceptionally friendly and open to women. about time we had a place like this. no hipsters, GREAT FOOD, super friendly bartender, Cam and amazing owners ready to have you try anything new makes this bar the best addition to CAPITOL HILL OR MAD VALLEY in a very long time. i lurves me some bottleneck!

why say it's on Capitol Hill?

this bar is in Madison Valley...more like a dyke bar with lots of pastey white faces...too many obnoxious wannabe hipsters...too small BTW...

yum, yum, yum

I *heart* the bottleneck. It's a great little neighborhood place that's chill enough to go to in your sweats and swank enough to go dressed up while you're waiting for a table at Crush (across the street). On an average evening, there's some of both. The drinks are yummy - classic cocktails made very well and some bottleneck specials. I love the "loyal companion" - basil, gin, lime - and adore the sunday bloody mary & grilled cheese special.
