SATURDAY 9/13

EPROM, AMERICA'S LAST GREAT DUBSTEP HOPE

Eprom has tracks titled "Twerkul8" and "Regis Chillbin," but don't write him off just yet. He's still one of the more skillful cats in the dubstep game, keeping his textures inhumanly wicked when the mood strikes him (which is often). The 2013 album Halflife finds Eprom (San Francisco's Alexander Dennis) exploring more subdued and subtle atmospheric realms, reveling in psychedelic down-tempo productions as well as his more familiar artful dubstep brutality. If my recommendation isn't enough, you should heed the authoritative word of Seattle producer/DJ/label boss Chloe Harris, who ranks Eprom highly. With Kid Hops, Flarelight, and Penny Wide Pupils. Chop Suey, 9 pm, $15, 21+.

SUNDAY 9/14

PULSE EMITTER AND PANABRITE'S KILLER NEO-NEW-AGE VIBES

With the recent increased attention devoted to new-age music (the life-enhancing kind), you should direct your ears to an active modern composer doing great work in that style: Portland synth master Pulse Emitter (aka Daryl Groetsch). Recent releases like the 2013 LP Crater Lake and this year's Alien Vacation are brilliant elaborations of patient, ever-evolving cosmic tone exploration that will calm your chakras and align your heartbeats. Seattle's Panabrite is an ideal complement for this show: His upcoming full-length on Immune, Pavilion, is one of his more tenebrous and tension-building ambient efforts. The beatific vibes at this show are gonna be off the chain. With Walt the Fish. Machine House Brewery, 8 pm, $8 adv/$10 DOS, all ages.

ADDISON GROOVE GIVES SOME FOOTWORK TO DAT ASS

Bristol, England's Addison Groove (aka Headhunter, aka Antony Williams) has made the transition from dubstep to UK funky to juke and footwork with aplomb; not just anyone can collaborate with the late, great DJ Rashad, you know. AG's frantic, funky beats and intricately looped and raunchy vocal samples make for wild dance floors full of flailing limbs. That two of his tracks are titled "Dat Ass" and "Ass Jazz" speaks volumes about Mr. Groove's ambitions. Expect much gluteal flexing to his crazy rhythms. With DJ Paypal, Seimei, Korma, and DJ Earl. Chop Suey, 8 pm, $6 adv/$8 DOS, 21+.

MONDAY 9/15

MR. PROJECTILE ENTERS MONSTER PLANET'S SURREAL MAELSTROM

Monster Planet's fusion of group-generated free-form electronic music and Killing Frenzy's expertly tweaked B-movie projections makes it one of the greatest Monday-night club experiences going in this city. Tonight, special guest from New York Mr. Projectile (aka Matthew Arnold) enters Monster Planet's surreal maelstrom in order to add even more weirdness to the pot. He's a master of funky electro and warped abstract electronic composition, so expect him to push things into complicated rhythmic terrain. With WD4D, Clonal Machina, Mr. Shave, and Leave Trace. Re-bar, 9 pm, free, 21+. recommended
