FRIDAY 6/8

PAGDIRIWANG--Da bang da bang diggy diggy diggy said the boogie said up jump the boogie! Festál 2001, the city's endless parade of cultural festivals at Seattle Center, continues with Pagdiriwang, a celebration of Filipino food, music, art, performance, martial arts demonstrations, fashion, and, of course... crafts. Can't have enough of those. Seattle Center, 11am-6 pm, free. Through Sun June 10.

SUNDAY 6/10

STUDEBAKER CAR CLUB SHOW--You can always rely on Diversions to keep you up to date on where there'll be a lot of the same thing in the same place at once. This week: Studebaker aficionados from around the Northwest converge at Seattle Center to admire each other's cars. For those not familiar, a Studebaker was driven by Fozzie Bear in The Muppet Movie. Seattle Center, Flag Pavilion, 425-868-0895 for info, 10 am-4 pm, free.

CAPTURE THE FAG--Queercore and the Gay City Health Project invite gay and bi men under 30 to Volunteer Park for a game of Capture the Fag. How this will be different from any other evening of men hiding in bushes has yet to be explained. Volunteer Park, 860-6969, www.queercore.org, 7 pm, free.

WEDNESDAY 6/13

YOUTH SAFETY TASK FORCE--Talking about sensitive issues of race and class in the wake of Mardi Gras so you don't have to, the Youth Safety Task Force (one of three created by Mayor Schell, along with the Special Events Task Force and the Pioneer Square Events Task Force) "will tackle the broader social issues brought to the fore by the violent behavior of the Fat Tuesday crowd." Whew. Thank goodness we're on top of that. Key Tower, 700 Fifth Ave, Room 2750, 684-4538, 4-6 pm.
