Green star George & Dragon Pub (Fremont)

206 N 36th St
Seattle, WA

Website

Fremont's awesome British pub is a jolly fucking good place to drink a lot of pints and eat decent fish and chips, and it's even better when there's a soccer match on. The joy of victory, the agony of defeat, and the inevitable ties are all better experienced at the George, where everyone's a fanatic. In 2006, the George was voted one of the top 10 places to watch un-American football in the US by GQ, and rightly so.

Worst Pub in Seattle

No kidding so many people say this is the POS pub in Seattle. Racist workers. "Jason" or whatever his name is, was drinking during work hours and was hitting on me and my girl friends during world cup game.

Talking about customer service? Owners better be aware of POS emploees they have.

If you want a good time, that's NOT the place to go.

Tried to watch the Sounders game with some friends there Saturday. Horrible experience that ended with some racist losers, who had been staring at us since we walked into the place, threatening to attack us and following us around inside the bar while we were trying to leave.

No help from the staff! They just watched us and let the guy who attacked me stay there and enjoy his beer after he chased us out.

Great Drinks, Awesome staff, okay food, terrible pop music. I love the George and have become great friends with the bartenders there on friday nights. But for gods sake guys can we switch out some of the discs in the juke box more than once every 3 world cups?

I dont have to dress up

The George is a great place for 20something and 30somethings to be seen and have a great time. You get all your drinks (stiff ones) at the bar (from a HARD workin staff--seriously the guys there last weekend were pouring hand over fist.) The advantage is that like the bars back home it means PEOPLE MINGLE and meet one another. You dont feel anchored to a table or server section. The atmosphere is great and the 2 decks are fun on a sunny day. Not sure how an english pub doesn't have Zep on the juke...but if you sift thru some of the brit-pop clogging the jukebox you can find $3 worth of good tunes.

Service can be asinine.

I used to frequent this place quite a bit for games, and still do on occasion. Unfortunately, last time I was there I was charged for several drinks I definitely didn't order. The twenty dollar overcharge was annoying, but not as annoying as the bartender's I-wouldn't-have-charged-you-if-you-didn't-drink-it answer. I understand you get people who forget how much they drink in this business, but I have never in my life gotten drunk enough to suddenly order three fruity mixed drinks with my Heineken/whisky combo. For fuck's sake, people. It's really too bad, because it was my favorite place to watch a game for years. I still do sometime, but try to take cash.

Love it

Only problem is there's too many Arsenal supporters who show up. Still there's nothing better then having a beer at 10AM while watching football

good place

i threw up in their parking lot about 5 years ago, so i've got fond memories of the place. if you're stuck in fremont after dark (or any time, for that matter), hit up the G&D. can get a bit annoying during soccer games (unless you are really into football) but other than that a pretty reliable place.
