POST-BUSH-ELECTION ALERT

With 22 percent of voters saying they prioritized "moral values" in the voting booth during this year's presidential election (the highest score for any single issue), Bush and the Republicans are now claiming that they alone represent religious Americans. While it's true that Evangelicals and Catholics went for Bush, the Rs' righteous claim arrogantly discounts other religions entirely. The Jewish vote, for example, went 74 percent for Kerry. And Muslims, who had gone for Bush in 2000, voted 90 percent Kerry. I guess Jews and Muslims finally have some common ground: They don't count in Bush's America. --JF
