FLICK CHICK: At the sneak preview of Fight Club on Wed 10/13 @ the Uptown, flu-ravaged TTS agent Jeff says his pleasant Dayquil buzz was interrupted by MTV Republican/100.7 FM "The Buzz" talk-show host Kennedy. He reports: "She was decked out like a frat guy -- someone needs to tell her grunge is dead! She stood next to the front door so everyone had to notice her. Once inside, she stood and pointed around the theater so, again, folks had to notice her. After everyone was seated, she tried to snag seats in the reserved section (which she did not get! Ha-ha!). The gal is obviously starved for attention!" ··· Then Lisa ran into Kennedy mauling two pretty-boy companions at the Hi-Spot in Madrona. "She ate a tofu scramble, and would NOT stop touching the two boys -- who were both obviously gay!! To top it off, they only tipped $5 on a $35 tab!" Cheapy McCheap!

FLICK CHICK II: Sat 10/16 at the Guild 45th, "Bill" spotted actress Bonnie Bedelia and a gentleman companion enjoying the matinee of Happy, Texas. Bonnie whooped it up during the funny movie -- she's currently working with Olivia Newton-John on the Texas cornpone coming-out story Sordid Lives... which ain't filming here.

YOU GO, BOY! Sat afternoon, 10/16, Tom was minding his own business at the Magnolia Bartell Drugs, when in walks a certain KZOK DJ! The irregular DJ marched straight over to the laxative and enema aisle, and began browsing for just the right brand. Tom suggests: "Maybe it's psychological -- he's suffering from a bad creativity block, spinning all those oldies!" A little KCMU freestylin' might be just the thing for the ol' foodpipes!

IT'S ON KOMO! On Mon 10/4 perky Cindi Rinehart hosted the cast of KING 5 TV's defunct Almost Live on NW Afternoon. The TV studio was half empty, with just a few loyal fans and the venerable Ken Schram. The pressure is building for locally owned KOMO TV 4 to revive Almost Live. Though the show had gotten tired in recent years, I think Seattle's comic blood is rich enough to keep something like this going. Do you care? Party with the cast Sat 10/23 at the Metropolitan Grill!

LeGuin; famous Magnolian Ron Reagan, Jr.; and a hatful of rockbirds: REM's Michael Stipe and Mike Mills; Bikini Kill's Kathleen Hanna; Eddie Vedder; and Ken Stringfellow. On the "agnostics" list: Matt Groening and rockers Dave Matthews and Krist Novoselic.

THE SHERM SHOW: Lovable scribe Sherman Alexie's back in action -- Hollywood powerhouse Miramax has given the green light to turn Sherm's novel Reservation Blues into his second movie... about an Indian Catholic rock 'n' roll band. As usual, Sherm dived ego-first into the project: It's not enough to write the thing -- he's decided he has to DIRECT, too! Move over, Orson Welles!
