Marc Broussard-October 30th, 2009

Saw Marc Broussard 2 nights ago at the Tractor. Great show! Very WEAK opening act. The guy who opened for Marc was Matt Hires. Wanna be country boy. Horrible voice, great guitar player and EXCELLENT whistling skills(out of the side of his mouth mind you). Matt made some mistakes, most noteably asking the sound man directly on the microphone 3 songs in a row to turn up the monitor volume. And he sang a Hank Williams Sr. song...not exactly the best thing to do in the music business when you start out.

Marc Broussard on the other hand, just was flat out AMAZING! He had great stage presence, sang professionaly and did heads & shoulders beyond expected with audience participation. His poor band had to stop after every 5-6 songs to tune their own instruments (since they had no road crew) so Marc played some popular dance songs on his IPOD he had plugged into the main sound system for us fans to jam to while they got everything under control. Marc even stepped out to me(about 4 rows back from the stage) to sign a tour poster and shake hands with me while they fixed their instruments, then got back up on his seat and played as if he never missed a beat. His drummer Chad Gilmore and bass/lead guitarist Joe were very professional in every way possible. They all even came out after the show to mingle with fans, get photos, chat and sign autographs before they had to take off.

As far as the Tractor staff and other things, the place holds no more than 200 people. Standing room everywhere, and nearly impossible to get a drink without a good 10-15 minute wait. The bathrooms are TINY and the staff were just wanting everyone to get out as soon as Marc & his band finished.

Good music , ok drinks

Love the tractor, but it's definatly a crazy place. Weird layout, especially for the amazing bands that come thru. And I hope you don't want anything more than a very basic drink... I usually get a Wiskey, because it seems that they get very pissy when they have to put more than a couple liquids in the glass. Love 'em though!

don't make eye contact with the staff...

Great bands, decent drinks, but sure a surly staff...some really bad attitudes and a couple of them seem to often be looking for (picking) a fight.

Great bands here

Low key place with a nice layout to watch music. You can catch some amazing touring acts here in a small club atmosphere. Be ready to stand. Big drawback is hard to get drinks when it's crowded.
