On April 21, someone broke into Seattle musician Rabia Shaheen Qazi's apartment and stole nearly everything of worth to her: musical instruments and gear, records, clothes, money, and mementos. The former vocalist for the Sub Pop-backed psychedelic-folk band Rose Windows—who's now pursuing a new global-folk project with multi-instrumentalist Mike DeBe—now has to start from scratch to build up her record collection (she also DJs under the name 2Stoned) and re-obtain the tools of her trade. To help accomplish this, her sister has set up a GoFundMe page for her. This unfortunate crime is the second to befall an ex-member of Rose Windows; back in January 2015, guitarist/songwriter Chris Cheveyo had his Les Paul guitar lifted from his pad.

UPDATE: Qazi just notified us that there are no leads yet on the culprit, but "we did recover a very rare '70s banjo of my band mate's, but the kid ran off because he got scared of all the questions [an employee at Capitol Loans was] asking. At least we got that, but there is still at least 10 grand worth of gear and records stolen."

Qazi's next show is May 4 at Chop Suey Den on a bill with Benjamin Thomas-Kennedy (aka Shitty Person, drummer for Lesbian and Fungal Abyss), Jenn Champion (aka S, ex-Carissa's Wierd), and Brad Dunn (Sleepy Workers). You can contribute to Qazi's GoFundMe campaign here.
