• Dan Savage presented his case against Jill Stein in our most widely-read story this week. On his podcast, Savage argues that a vote for the Green Party candidate is a vote for Trump, and that a Trump presidency doesn’t hurt Stein, but rather the marginalized communities of this country.

• The Green Party responded, calling Savage “dead wrong.” Spokesperson Andrea Mérida Cuéllar defended the party’s campaign and responded to Savage’s claims that the party was “pasty-white.”

• Dan caught wind of their response, and just yesterday, produced his rebuttal. Read it here.

• For the first time, the block party will also be live-streamed. Check out the streaming schedule and project the show right into your living room.

• In June, Sydney Brownstone wrote a feature story about an alleged porn audition scam run by Seattle tech journalist Matt Hickey. Since then, more women have come forward with allegations against Hickey—including three who are accusing him of date rape. Hickey has yet to be interviewed by the police.

• You may have heard that the Republican National Convention unfolded throughout this past week. Reporters Sydney and Heidi Groover were on the ground in Cleveland, OH, covering the RNC’s queer underground, Tinder scene, and homeless community. Last night, Donald Trump formally accepted the Republican nomination for president, in a speech that Stranger staffers had a ball live-tweeting.

• For canned food you can believe in, JarrBar is the place to go. Angela Garbes reviewed the tiny venue located at Pike Place Market. Not recommended for full meals, it’s a well-lit space for post-work wine and Spanish eats.

• You have plenty of places to shop for handmade and locally-made goods this weekend. Check out the Renegade Craft Fair, the Seattle Makers Market, or the BadWill Market. And for more activities that won’t cost more than $10, check this out.
