"Morning Joe" Scarborough dropped a sobering anecdote into his broadcast today. After an interview with General Michael Hayden where the former CIA director discussed the dangers of someone with emerging demagogue Donald Trump's ''erratic" behavior having access to nuclear weapons, Scarborough shared the following:

“Several months ago, a foreign policy expert on international level went to advise Donald Trump. Three times he asked about the use of nuclear weapons. Three times he asked, at one point, ‘If we have them, why can’t we use them?’”

Let's repeat: "If we have them, why can't we use them?"

A Trump spokesperson issued a flat "There's no truth to this" to The Hill.

Trump can seem like a meme of a cardboard cutout of a meme of a racist villain, and this flimsiness is what makes the possibility of him having access to the nuclear codes so terrifying.

"Morning Joe" co-host Mika Brzezinski, listen quietly to the exchange. "Be careful America, and be careful Republican leaders. Your party is blowing up," she said gravely, looking inwardly for a moment. "Just...pull your endorsements."
