As a Delaware-sized chunk of ice began to break off an Antarctic ice shelf, Trump announced his decision to begin the withdrawal process from the Paris Agreement. Despite the fact that the United States boasts the second-highest level of carbon emissions on the planet, our country now joins the ranks of two other abstainers: Syria and Nicaragua. It should be noted, though, that Nicaragua didn’t sign on because the accord “wasn’t tough enough.”

But he will stick to the process laid out in the Paris agreement, which President Barack Obama joined and most of the world has already ratified. That could take four years to complete, meaning a final decision would be up to the American voters in the next presidential election.
Watch him attempt to destroy the world like a cartoon villain here:
While it’s true that participating in the Paris Agreement alone wouldn’t be enough to prevent catastrophic events related to global warming, it’s also true that we can no longer even pretend to be a leader in the fight to save the planet from ourselves. Berlin, Beijing, take the wheel.
Before I start building my own post-apocalyptic survival ship, I’d just like to throw out a couple fuck yous to Steve Bannon and Scott Pruitt for pushing this earth-melting agenda.
