What do you do for a living?

Nothing right now. Self-employed.

Who did you vote for for mayor?

Cary Moon?

Why?

It was a tough call. Mostly I looked at transit issues and community involvement, issues around homelessness and housing affordability. I was torn between the two and it was kind of hard to find the right place.

And how do you think she's going to do?

I don't know. I think it's going to be close.

What about City Council position 8, Grant versus Mosqueda?

I didn't know a whole lot about that race. I don't know who I voted for.

Where do you get your endorsements?

I looked at The Stranger and the voting guide and online for community info. I did that for so many of them I can't remember.

What about sheriff, Urquhart versus Mitzi?

How do you pronounce her name?

Mitzi.

Yeah, I voted for her.

Do you have a reason?

Let's see... What was I thinking of? I don't think he's done a whole lot lately to engage the community so I was looking for a change.

Who did you vote for for mayor?
Cary Moon.

Why's that?

I think she is a little more progressive and a little less beholden to the business lobby or something.

Do you think she's going to win?

I don't know. I haven't look at any polls.

What about City Council position 8?

I voted for Mosqueda.

Why's that?

I think we need more people of color and women in leadership positions is most of it. When in doubt, I went that direction.

What about for sheriff?

Mitzi. I didn't look too closely into it but new blood, mostly.

How long have you lived in Seattle?

Since 1985.

And who did you vote for for mayor? You've got the Cary Moon look. All-black.

I was torn. That's why I'm voting today, because I couldn't make up my mind. I ended up voting for Jenny.

Why?

I think just her breadth of experience. It was tough. It was very tough for me.

Position 8?

I voted for Jon Grant. Based on his past experience in office.

And sheriff?

I voted for Mitzi. I'm a little concerned about the new controversy surrounding Urquhart.

How long have you been in Seattle?

For two years.

Who did you vote for for Mayor?

Cary Moon.

Why is that?

I think she has a little more of a holistic view and understanding of equity and the environment in this region.

What about position 8?

Teresa Mosqueda. I looked at who endorsing her and that's what got me.

What about sheriff?

I voted for Mitzi because I think that in times like this we need people who are caring and think about the community and community policing instead of aggressive policing against people who might not be from this country.
